A: Excuse me. Where’s the nearest bus stop?

      (실례지만, 가장 가까운 버스 정류장이 어디예요?)

B: There’s one right behind the police station.

      (경찰서 바로 뒤에 하나 있어요.)

A: Thanks. I’m trying to get to the city.

      (고마워요. 시내에 가려고 하거든요.)

B: Take the ferry. It’s way faster.

      (페리를 타세요. 그게 훨씬 더 빨라요.)

 

 

 

 

A: Excuse me. Where’s the nearest bus stop?

* bus stop - 버스 정류장

* near [niər] -  가까운, 근처

※ near  ≫  nearer  ≫  the nearest

 

▶ Where is (명사)? = (명사)는 어디에 있어요?

ex) Where is your mom?  -  너의 엄마는 어디 계시니?

      Where is your boarding pass?  -  너의 탑승권은 어디 있어?

 

B: There’s one right behind the police station.

* police station - 경찰서

* fire station - 소방서

 

▶ behind (명사) = (명사)의 뒤에

ex) behind you  -  네 뒤에

      behind the bus  -  버스 뒤에

      behind the fire station  -  그 소방서 뒤에

      

▶ There is (명사). = (명사)가 있어요.

ex) There is a bank.  -  은행이 있어요

      There is a post office there.  -  우체국이 거기에 있어요

     

A: Thanks. I’m trying to get to the city.

* city - 도시, 시내

 

※ arrive at  (vs)  get to  =  도달하다, 도착하다

* arrive at - 장거리 이동 시에 많이 사용됨

* get to - 가볍게 사용됨

 

▶ get to (장소) = (장소)에 도달하다/가다 

ex) They got to the airport late.  -  그들은 그 공항에 늦게 도착했어

      I got here at 11.  -  난 여기 11시에 도착했어

       - 'here' 'there' 'home'은 'to'를 쓰지 않음

      

B: Take the ferry. It’s way faster.

※ way - 훨씬, 아주 ( = much = far )

 

※ take  (vs)  get on

* take - '이용하다'라는 개념

* get on - 물리적으로 '올라탈 때' 사용
