A: Are you ready for your piano lesson?

      (피아노 레슨 준비 됐니?)

B: Wait. My music book is playing hide-and-seek with me.

      (잠깐만요. 제 음악책을 못 찾겠어요.)

B: I swear I left it on my desk.

      (맹세하고 책상 위에 놔뒀는데.)

A: Then, what’s that on the bookshelf?

      (그럼, 책장에 저건 뭐니?)

 

 

 

A: Are you ready for your piano lesson?

* lesson [lésn] - 레슨

* ready [rédi] - 준비가 된

 

▶ be ready + for (명사) = (명사)에 대한 준비가 되어 있다

ex) I am not ready for this.  -  나 이거에 대한 준비가 안 돼 있어

      Are you ready for the show?  -  쇼를 즐길 준비가 되셨나요?

 

B: Wait. My music book is playing hide-and-seek with me.

* music book - 음악책

* hide-and-seek [ ˌhaɪd n ˈsiːk ] - 숨바꼭질

* hide [haid] - 숨다

* seek [siːk] - 찾다

 

▶ play hide-and-seek = 숨바꼭질하다

ex) Do you want to play hide-and-seek?  -  너 숨바꼭질하고 싶니?

      It's time to play hide-and-seek!  -  숨바꼭질할 시간이다!

 

※ It's time to do something.  -  ~할 시간이야

 

※ play tag = 술래잡기하다

 

=  I can not find my music book.

 

B: I swear I left it on my desk.

* desk [desk] - 책상

 

※ leave  ≫  left  ≫  left

* leave [liːv] - 떠나다, 남겨두다

 

* swear [swεər] - 맹세하다

※ swear  ≫  swore  ≫  sworn

 

▶ I swear + (평서문). = 맹세하고 (평서문)이야. / (평서문)인 걸 맹세해

ex) I swear I saw it here.  -  그거 여기서 본 거 맹세해

      I swear I didn't do it.  -  나 맹세하고 그거 안 했어 

 

A: Then, what’s that on the bookshelf?

* bookshelf [bʊˈkʃeˌlf] - 책장, 책꽂이

* bookshelves - 책장 (복수)

 

▶ on (명사) = (명사) 위에

ex) It's on the desk.  -  그거 책상 위에 있어

      What's that on the sofa?  -  소파 위에 저건 뭐니?
