A: Do you know any good restaurants near the hotel?

      (호텔 근처에 괜찮은 식당 좀 아세요?)

B: There’s a great Italian restaurant across the street.

      (길 건너에 진짜 괜찮은 이태리 식당 있어요.)

A: What is the place called?

      (식당 이름이 뭔데요?)

B: It’s called Mayu Italia, and their food is affordable.

      (Mayu Italia라고 하는데, 음식도 저렴해요.)

 

 

 

 

A: Do you know any good restaurants near the hotel?

* restaurant [réstərənt] - 식당, 레스토랑

* near [niər] - 근처에

 

▶ near (명사) = (명사) 근처에

ex) Do you know any museums near the hotel?  -  호텔 근처에 박물관을 아나요?

      There is a subway station near the building.  -  지하철역이 그 건물 근처에 있어요

      

* museum [mjuːzíːəm] - 박물관

 

※ near = around

 

B: There’s a great Italian restaurant across the street.

* Italian [itǽljən] - 이탈리아의, 이탈리아인인

* across [əkrɔ́ːs, əkrάs] - 가로질러서, 걸러서

 

▶ across the street = 길 건너에

ex) I live across the street.  -  저 길 건너에 살아요

      There is a gas station across the street.  -  길 건너에 주유소가 있어요

 

※ across the river = 강 건너에

 

A: What is the place called?

* place [pleis] - 장소, 곳

 

▶ What is (명사) called? = (명사)를 뭐라고 불러요? / (명사)는 이름이 뭐예요?

ex) What is it called?  -  그건 뭐라고 불러요?

      What is the restaurant called?  -  그 식당은 뭐라고 불러요?

       

B: It’s called Mayu Italia, and their food is affordable.

 

* affordable [əfɔ́ːrdəbl] - 저렴한, 여유가 되는

 

※ affordable  (vs)  cheap

* affordable - 중립적이고 긍정적 의미를 줌

* cheap - '저렴하다, 싸구려다'는 의미가 있어 부정적 의미를 줄 수가 있음

 

* expensive [ikspénsiv] - 비싼

 

▶ A is called B.  =  A는 B라고 불러/해.
